On To The Next Rodeo..

On To The Next Rodeo..

When life serves you the biggest bucking horses, you either ride 'em or get bucked off... well, we got bucked off! But were not staying down, were back on the road & on to the next rodeo.

In December, I had an opportunity to grow my store and put a small piece of it into The Painted Tree Boutiques in Tyler, TX.  Which is located in the outdoor Cumberland Mall, same building as the old Bed, Bath & Beyond was in, a great location for lots of shoppers! The Painted Tree Boutiques offers steady shopping hours, they're open Sunday thru Saturday, 10am-8p without vendors having to work those hours, they supplied the store employees. As y'all know, with 3 kids, I am super busy & my Grand Saline store hours reflect that. So, I jumped on this new adventure with pure excitement to grow my customers and have lots of daily foot traffic with new shoppers.

But I was quickly reminded as to why I opened a store front, I am able to be hands on with my customers daily. I missed having those conversations about putting outfits together, what styles fit the best for other body types and helping my customers grow their self-confidence with how they dress. It was a great opportunity, but just wasn't for us. If you came to shop with us in Tyler, we thank you so much for the support! The Painting Tree Boutique is such an experience, go visit one!

With all that being said, I've truly self-reflected on myself, as a mom and as a business owner. With January sales being down, February sales weren't far behind, the bills don't stop. Days are hard when you sit at work all day, ready to see & talk to customers, then no one comes in, or you make no sales, you really start doubting yourself. In order to pay bills, I started subbing at local schools, which has really brought me joy. I get dressed everyday in my Salty Bronc clothes, which has been great! I'm around people all day, the school schedule allows me the afternoons to ship online orders, meet customers with pick up orders or get kids to practice. Subbing really filled up my daily/weekly schedule fast & as a business owner I never want to put what I am really passionate about on the back burner but again, I have bills to pay.

Currently the decision I've made is to accept every sub job that's available to me & open the store with a flexible schedule. Meaning, I will post hours with every picture I post or answer any questions customers have about hours & availability. The store front in Grand Saline will NEVER close permanently (LORD WILLING). We are simply trying to survive and do what's best for our family and for our business.

So here is to dusting ourselves off & getting back on the bucking horse!
